Why The World Nowadays Is Just A Gigantic Show of Egos

The modern world has become very self-centered as many people are self-absorbed with social media and their smart phones. As a result there are a larger number of people who lack the ability to see outside of themselves and show true empathy.

Despite self-absorbing lifestyles becoming more commonplace there are many people who are tuning more deeply into their intuition and talents.

Being able to promote yourself and advertise yourself are crucial for professionalism as well as expanding and growing in any area.

Whether you are concentrating on a career or building up your skills it is definitely essential to believe in your abilities and have a good idea of your strengths. Make sure to put forth your own talent for a company or for your own self-carved path.

By expanding your ego and displaying that you have good teamwork skills and an ability to work cohesively with others and sharpen others strengths you are on the right track.

The question surrounding ego’s is when it comes to show and entertainment. Why are many people eager to become something so large and expand their status?

The primary reason for this behavior is many people are desperate for attention. The way of showcasing oneself to others for some is through expanding their own personality and their skills by becoming more egotistical. In this day in age everyone seems to have a short attention span and many are twiddling their thumbs looking for some new way to keep their time wisely occupied.

If you don’t grab somebody’s attention in a short time-span they will easily get distracted and forget about what you were telling them.

In a day in age where everyone’s fighting for their attention, make sure to focus on what you can change, not on the things you cannot change. What you focus on and spend the most time on ultimately becomes your reality. So, if you focus on the positive you’ll receive more positive outcomes. If you focus on the negative and how bad things are, you’ll receive negative outcomes in your daily life.

ATTITUDE is everything!

You need to have a winning attitude and you need to have the ability to self-assess on a regular basis so you can see where you’re headed.

If your ego is too large and you need to conquer it, here is a list of exercises to help assist with defeating the ego:

  • Write down everything you REALLY own.
  • Write down your proudest accomplishments you’ve achieved so far in your life.
  • Write down whatever it is that you feel you need to do in your lifetime. (In a sense write down important bucket list items.)
  • Ask yourself what your biggest attachments are in your everyday life that you could live without.
  • Ask yourself what people you feel most attached to. (Are these people helpful for your growth or toxic.)
  • Write down and find out what apps on your phone or tablet you spend the most time on. (Is it possible for you to delete or eliminate the app for an amount of time in order to get more out of your daily life?)
  • Write down a list of areas in your life where you know you can get better, smarter, and stronger. (How much time do you need to dedicate to these areas on a weekly basis?)

If your ego is small ego, ask yourself these questions:

  • How can I contribute to my local community?
  • What type of projects could I commit to in order to fulfill a need that would elevate multiple people’s lives?
  • How could my lifestyle be transformed in order to deepen my life purpose?

The ego is often what holds us back from a life of limitless potential. Whether it’s our fears that control our thinking and prevent us from taking further action or our own negative cycle of behaviors that get us stuck on a treadmill of a stationary lifestyle, you have to become unstuck.

I truly believe that being complacent is harmful. The more that you sit around, the more you become stuck. You need to look at life with a new lens and see how you can loosen up and showcase yourself with whatever gifts that you have.

The worst thing is to gently coast through life without truly living. Life is about continually discovering your talents even the one’s that are still hiding under the surface that will someday influence and change another person’s life.
