Is Social Media Damaging Your Psyche?

Social Media

With the numerous social media outlets available in the world today, it isn’t uncommon for people to become trapped into these applications. Often times social media is a battleground between people’s ego’s and a simple way for people to share their life experiences with other people whom they’ve connected with previously in life.

With social media you get some pros and cons. With that said, it appears that in the modern day a lot of people seem to suffer a lot more from the cons of social media. Many people get stuck in this mindset of endless comparison to other people.

When people simply forget to live their own life and sit all day comparing themselves to other people and learning about how much better certain people have it in their life, it starts to damage the human psyche.

Part of my life has been spent trying to discover ways in which I could obtain more happiness, and a lot of my happiness has been achieved through living life through experiencing it through my own eyes versus staring at a computer screen or smartphone social media app.

What I hope to see in the future, is a continuation of social media, but rather for a different reason. I hope to see people using social media as a way to express their thoughts as well as a way to showcase changes that occur over time.

In the future we may see more people boycotting social media as well as more people limiting their time on social media in order to be more productive in regards to reaching more hopes and dreams. Social media may already be a useful primary tool for businesses and entrepreneurs in the future, as more people continue to use it as an effective communication tool.

My goal is to help others reach their targets in order to become smarter, happier, healthier human beings that strive for growth by expanding their inner potential.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to communicate to other people without getting distracted by social media outlets. The best way to avoid this distraction is to limit your time in the virtual world and to increase your time in the real world. This can be accomplished by communicating the way your true self was meant to be shown which is face to face.

Whether your social media vice happens to be shown through Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, or SnapChat; it doesn’t matter the outlet. Chances are that one of these social media outlets happens to hold up a lot of your free time which could potentially be holding you back from achieving your wildest dreams.

I have no problem with people wanting to share their experiences with others, I see social media as a great tool in that format.

If I were to guess, I would think that you could learn some amazing things, start a business, help people who are in great need, expand your skill sets, and become much wealthier if you simply limited or eliminated your social media outlets for a period of time.

America isn’t a cheap place to live and the cost of living continues to climb as wages keep on staying stagnant.

Social media may be a useful tool for giving your marketing an edge, however its entertainment value is also noteworthy for taking up too much time.

The world is at your fingertips and people have the freedom to make all sorts of choices and decisions with how they should spend their free time in life.

Success is achieved through habits. If you want to take control of your destiny, you need to take heavy action and write out a path to your destination. Expand your life, and expand the amount of important quality people that you have in your life.

Having a large social media presence and having thousands friends on your list doesn’t always actually mean much. Many people chase validation from other people within their circles of influence. What really counts is having a strong foundation of habits, and a mindset that incorporates change.

What matters most, is having a close circle of people in life who help influence you to become the best person that you can possibly become.

Limit your time on social media and you will see how much more happiness you gain in such a short amount of time.

The biggest villain might be within you. It very well might be your own ego that is holding you back from a life of joy.
