The idea behind escapism can be very interesting, as it enables the human mind to avoid stress and venture off away from parts of reality that we sometimes prefer to avoid.

There can be positive forms of escapism that people turn towards in order to benefit and gain more personal growth and eventually expand creativity and productivity.

Some beneficial activities of escapism can include cooking, eating food, reading, writing, listening to music, playing music, playing sports, watching movies, and viewing art.

For many people in our current world escapism is slowly taking over. For better or for worse, there are endless distractions with the invention of the internet and smart phones that seem to take away the human mind from regular every day tasks and chores that were required for earlier civilizations and societies.

As a result of the modern age, some people have lost certain hand crafted skills. As technology has expanded there happens to be a result of people becoming addicted to avoiding reality and situations that need to be solved.

The truthful fact surrounding escapism is that it can become harmful when people turn too much towards television binge watching, video games, alcoholism, and drug abuse. There has to be a fine line for how much time people spend in indulgent habits.

In regard to escapism there is definitely benefits that come along with recharging and refueling our minds and bodies so to speak. Without any time away, life can become too monotonous and routine in the real world.

When people choose to escape they should be choosing wisely. If a person decides to avoid family members,  career priorities, marriage, kids and other close priorities this avoidance can be detrimental.

Escapism becomes beneficial when people actively take care of issues and confronting problems. The problem becomes when people become so comfortable with escapism that they forget to snap back to reality and continue to stay away.

Escapism can benefit your life, it’s just a matter of how you utilize it and how often you encounter your priorities of what actually needs to be done.

Music, art, and writing are just three examples of escapism that exist yet they are so powerful in how they can formulate happiness and contentment. All people want a little balance when life becomes overwhelming with work-life and the stress that comes with it.

At times spending time in escapism can help change a person’s perspective on life. But before you get too caught up, just remember that each person faces a variety of pain’s and pleasures.

Whichever way you look at it most people use escapism as a way to subconsciously avoid something. Just remember you can always add fun into your real life. You don’t need to rely upon a fantasy world in order to discover your form of escapism.

Life is super exciting, you can always learn a new skill, read a book, create a new recipe, fix something, or build something.

At times taking a step away from the regular day to day things can be a perspective changer.
